Cats
Pedigree
A pedigreed
cat is a cat that has its ancestry recorded and tracked by a
major cat registry. The number of generations required varies from breed
to breed, but all pedigreed cats have papers from the registering body
that attest to its ancestry.
Sometimes
purebred is used to mean pedigreed, but as all breeds came from random bred
cats originally, the term pedigreed is preferred.
